As of the opening of our new online store on 11 April 2018, our sales and delivery terms and conditions have been updated. The new sales terms and conditions for the Finnish National Opera and Ballet will apply to the 2018–2019 season. Separate sales terms and conditions apply to the performances of The Phantom of the Opera. In the future, products from the Opera Restaurant will also be available from the online store. You will find the updated sales terms and conditions of the Opera Restaurant further down on this page.

The old terms and conditions, which apply to spring 2018 performances, can be found at the bottom of this page.

Flexible pricing

We operate with a dynamic pricing policy. The price of the ticket will depend upon the selected seat, performance (the production and possible visiting artists), and time (such as a weekday), as well as ticket demand. The price of a seat may vary during the performance period. Tickets for premieres have a higher price range. For detailed pricing information and a seating plan showing seat availability, please visit your chosen production’s dedicated page and click on your preferred date.

Concessions and discounts

Concession pricing is available for selected seats in the stalls and 1st and 2nd balconies unless otherwise indicated. Discounts are given on the full price of tickets to performances in the Main Auditorium excluding premieres and guest performances. The prices and concessions for tickets to performances in Almi Hall and the foyers vary by production. Please note that different concessions and sales terms and conditions apply to tickets for The Phantom of the Opera. The Finnish National Opera and Ballet reserves the right to make changes to availability of concessions and discounts.

Group discounts are valid from Monday to Thursday. The discount for groups of 10–29 people is 5% per ticket and 10% per ticket for groups of 30 or more. You can currently purchase a maximum of 20 tickets for one performance from the online store. Please see the group tickets section for more information.

Children and young adults under 20 years of age are given a 40–50% discount on the full ticket price. Please also see same-day tickets.

Students, conscripts and non-military servicemen are given a 40% discount on the full ticket price. The discount applies to performances from Monday to Thursday, with limited availability for weekend performances. Please also see same-day tickets.

Pensioners are given a discount of €10 per ticket on select seats in the stalls and the 1st balcony. Please also see same-day tickets.

Same-day tickets for under 20-year-olds, students, conscripts, non-military servicemen, the unemployed and pensioners are available at a special rate of €20 per ticket. The discounted tickets are available according to demand for select seats in the stalls and the 2nd balcony (no reservations allowed, discounts do not apply to cancellations). They can only be purchased in person, and proof of eligibility will be required for purchase and upon entry to the auditorium.

Travel agents / tour operators in charge of a group of 10 or more people are given a discount of 10% on the full ticket price.

If requested, an I.D. or other proof of eligibility must be presented upon entry to the auditorium.

Exchanging your ticket

Full price tickets and concessionary tickets for under-20-year olds, students and pensioners can be exchanged in our online store free of charge. To exchange your ticket, you must have a valid user account. Group bookings of 10 or more tickets, promotional discount tickets, and tickets to The Phantom of the Opera are non-changeable.

Tickets can be exchanged as specified above for another performance in the same season, where seats are available. You will need to pay any difference in price between the original ticket and the new ticket. If you cannot decide for which performance you want to exchange your ticket, you can cancel the purchase and have the value of the tickets credited to your user account. Please note that you must use this credit for another performance within the same season, and that the credit is not valid for purchasing gift vouchers or season tickets.

A service fee of €5 per ticket applies to exchanges made via the FNO box office or telephone service. The service fee will be charged at the event of exchange. Tickets must be exchanged no later than two working days before the performance. Tickets that have been collected are non-refundable.

No refund will be granted for tickets that have not been exchanged in time (i.e. two or more working days before the performance) or for non-changeable tickets. On a change of schedule or a cancellation of a performance because of force majeure, the ticket price will be refunded in exchange for the original ticket within one month of the change or cancellation. The Finnish National Opera and Ballet cannot accept responsibility for other expenses incurred.

User account

You must create a user account to make purchases in our new online store. By signing in, you can manage your ticket purchases, edit your contact details and browse your purchase history. If you cannot attend the performance for which you have bought tickets, you can exchange your tickets for another performance. When you cancel your purchase, the value of the tickets will be credited to your user account. This credit can be used for tickets to performances within the current season, but it is not valid for gift vouchers or season tickets. The credit of your user account will expire at the end of the season, currently on 31 May 2019 at the latest.
