Wozzeck is a story about an oppressed soldier, his mental breakdown and his final desperate act. Wozzeck is one of the great masterpieces of 20th century opera. It echoes the sentiments of the First World War and the modern era. The stark music is conducted by Hannu Lintu.

The Board of the Finnish National Opera and Ballet has decided to extend Lilli Paasikivi’s term as the Artistic Director of the National Opera by three years up to 31st July 2023.

The Finnish National Opera and Ballet have initiated their first ever public fundraising campaign. The theme of the campaign is Support future talents. In August, the newly established Esa-Pekka Salonen’s Fund will take centre stage.
