The world’s favourite opera in 30 minutes

Carmen’s enthusiasm for dancing flamenco infuriates her neighbours. Tired of the constant clacking, they have called Don José, a policeman. The singing of the beautiful Carmen pulls Don José to the flamenco club, though Micaëla has made delicious macaroni and cheese at home. Unfortunately, Carmen doesn’t care about Don José, as he’s left in the shadow of the handsome flamenco guitarist Escamillo. Buenos días indeed – how will it all end?

In this mini opera, two singers and two musicians tell the story of Carmen in just half an hour. Children and adults alike will love the catching melodies and fiery Spanish rhythms of this ever popular opera.

Mini Opera for daycare groups

Enrolment for Mini Opera: Carmen for daycare groups in spring 2024 has ended.

As part of our co-operation with the municipalities of the Helsinki Metropolitan Area, we offer local daycare groups the chance to participate in our Mini Opera free of charge. For daycare groups from outside the area there are some free places too. Please enrol for the performances in advance. Participants are selected in order of enrolment, but first-timers are prioritised.

The performances will take place at 10 a.m., 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. See all possible performance dates on the registration form.
