George Orwell’s Animal Farm, written in 1945, is a poignant allegory for the evolution of the Russian Revolution into Stalin’s brutal regime. Tragically, Orwell’s critique still resonates in today’s world.
“This opera is a political satire. It’s a parody of power and how it can destroy both man and beast,” says the composer and librettist Alexander Raskatov.
