Stay safe at the Finnish National Opera and Ballet

We care about your well-being and want you to feel safe at the Opera House. Find out below how you can enjoy our opera and ballet performances without concern.

Please stay home if you have symptoms

You can cancel your tickets and refreshments as late as 24 hours before the performance starts. Read more about cancelling tickets and see our sales terms and conditions for exceptions. Their value will be credited to your customer account. You must use all the credit in your user account during spring 2023.

How to ensure a safe visit

Please arrive in good time

  • Please arrive at the Opera House and make your way to the auditorium well in advance of the performance. This will help you avoid the crowds.The Opera House opens 1.5 hours before each performance.
  • Make sure that you have the correct ticket. You can check your seat in your customer account or using the Opera&Ballet mobile application. We will inspect your tickets at the entrance to the auditorium.

Ensuring hygiene together

  • Hand sanitiser is available in the vicinity of each cloakroom. Please cough or sneeze into a disposable tissue or your upper sleeve.

Pre-order and avoid using cash

  • Order refreshments in advance: online 24 hours before the performance, by phone Mon–Fri 10–18, Sat 12–18 or  at the customer service desk Mon–Fri 14–19, Sat 12–18. On the day of the performance, you can order refreshments by phone for Mon-Fri performances by 11.30 on the same day. For Saturday performances, telephone orders must be placed by 16.00 on Friday.
  • Please pay by card when possible.

Update your contact details

  • When you buy tickets from us, we always ask for your contact details. This helps make sure that we can reach you in case of unforeseen events like cancellations. If your contact details change, kindly update them in your customer account in our online store or get in touch with our customer service. Please read our privacy policy.
  • Buying tickets from brokers is not recommended. By purchasing directly from us you’ll not only get the best price but also ensure a full refund if the performance is cancelled.
