Open House at Night of the Arts at the Finnish National Opera and Ballet has a full and varied program for opera and ballet lovers, both inside and outside the Opera House.

Peek behind the scenes on a guided tour, come and watch rehearsals of CircOpera 2.0, dance, craft, sing opera hits, meet professionals working in the Opera House, or even try out a virtual stage tool. The beloved flea market makes a comeback, with enchanting finds from the prop department of the Finnish National Opera and Ballet. This year, the flea market will be located inside the Opera House. As twilight descends, a selection of teasers from the upcoming season’s productions will also be seen on the open air stage.

Tickets are required for the following events

Guided tours

Step behind the scenes at the Opera House on a guided tour. Tickets are available 30 minutes before the start of each tour at a ticket desk near Cloakroom B in the Aino Lobby (on the Mannerheimintie side). You can find the ticket desk location on the event map (in Finnish). Each group can accommodate up to 20 participants. A maximum of 2 tickets per person. Tours last approximately 60 minutes.

Tour schedule:

4:30 p.m. 2 groups in Finnish, tickets available from 4:00 p.m.
6:00 p.m. 2 groups  (1 in Finnish, 1 in Swedish), tickets available from 5:30 p.m.
7.30 p.m. 2 groups (1 in Finnish, 1 in English), tickets available from 7:00 p.m.

CircOpera 2.0 rehearsals

Experience a live rehearsal of CircOpera 2.0 on the Main Stage of the Finnish National Opera. Tickets are available from the ticket desk near Cloakroom B in the Aino Lobby (on the Mannerheimintie side), one hour before each rehearsal begins. Please check the event map for the ticket desk location (in Finnish). Please note: seats are limited. Minimum age for entry is 7. A maximum of 2 tickets per person. The rehearsals last approximately 60 minutes.

Rehearsal schedule:

6:00 p.m., tickets available from 5:00 p.m.
7:30 p.m., tickets available from 6:30 p.m.

Circus hat workshop

Main Foyer, 4:15–7:00 p.m.

Ballet class with Javier

Outdoor stage, Opera Square (on the Mannerheimintie side), 5:00–5:45 p.m.

Join an open ballet class with Javier Torres, the Artistic Director of the Finnish National Ballet. No previous experience needed! We recommend wearing trainers.

Flea market

Almi Hall Foyer, 5:00–8:00 p.m.

Discover unique treasures from the Finnish National Opera and Ballet costume and props departments. The market is open until 8 p.m. or while stocks last. Please note: the market is held indoors in the Almi Hall Foyer, with entrance on the Töölönlahti Bay side.

Sing some of opera’s most beloved tunes alongside our soloists and orchestra.

The Night of the Arts culminates in a selection of highlights from our upcoming season. Hosted by our Artistic Directors, Javier Torres and Thomas de Mallet Burgess.

How to buy discounted tickets

Discounted tickets are limited. The discount is rounded to the nearest euro. The campaign is valid until August 17, 2025 at 11:59 p.m., if there are discounted tickets left. The discount applies only to standard tickets (“Standard Ticket”). You can purchase up to 10 discounted tickets. Please note that campaign tickets are non-exchangeable and cannot be converted into credit on your customer account. Campaign tickets cannot be redeemed with culture benefits.
