Ballet goes to school
EXPERIENCE BALLET! is an interactive workshop for students in grades 5–9 that opens a window into the world of ballet. Pupils and staff alike can experience the atmosphere of a Finnish National Ballet performance in their own school.
The workshop includes a short ballet performance, a movement session and the creation of a short piece inspired and guided by professional dancers. Every participant will discover what happens behind the scenes in ballet and find their own ways of telling stories through movement.
The workshop is free of charge for schools. The next visits will take place in spring 2026. Application period for the workshops will begin on Monday 2 March at 9 a.m. The application period will end on Friday 6 March at 11.59 p.m.

EXPERIENCE BALLET! workshops are designed for students in grades 5–9. They are held in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area and occasionally in other locations, too. The duration of the workshop is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. The workshop takes place in the school sports hall, usually beginning at 10 a.m. A teacher must be present for the entire workshop. The workshop starts with a 10-minute dance performance, which all the students and staff of the school are welcome to attend.
Application period for the workshops in spring 2026 will begin on Monday 2 March at 9 a.m. The application period will end on Friday 6 March at 11.59 p.m.
