Morgonstjärnan – The Morning Star: The creators of the visual world
In this three-part mini documentary series, we follow the making of the opera Morgonstjärnan – The Morning Star.
In the second episode, we explore the opera from the perspectives of set and costume design. Set designer Leslie Travers explains how the world of the work comes together, while costume designer Tracy Grant Lord shares her thoughts on the colour palette and on how the costumes support the storytelling.
We also meet the scenic painter and costume workshop professionals who bring the designs to life on stage. In their hands, surfaces, textures, fabrics, and details take their final form — precise craftsmanship that completes the opera’s visual identity.
