The (R)evolution of Steve Jobs, which has its European premiere at the Finnish National Opera on 18 September, traces the life of a visionary who changed our world irrevocably. The rapturously received opera won the Grammy Award for Best Opera Recording in 2019.
You are warmly invited to an open preview event, which explores the lasting legacy of Steve Jobs, at the Almi Hall Foyer of the Opera House on Thursday 17 September from 6 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. Are people like Jobs necessary for giant technological leaps? How have smartphones, data and AI shaped humanity, the economy and society? In addition to the discussion, the event will feature music from the opera.
At the start of the event, the director of The (R)evolution of Steve Jobs, Kevin Newbury, will talk about the opera and its creative process. After this, Tero Ojanperä, an AI visionary; Heli Rantavuo, professor of practice at Hanken School of Economics and a former Spotify manager; and Jussi Ahlroth, a journalist well-versed in Buddhism and technology, will discuss the themes of the work. The discussion will be moderated by journalist Jaakko Lyytinen and held in Finnish.
Baritone John Moore and tenor Mika Pohjonen, soloists in The (R)evolution of Steve Jobs, will perform at the event.
