Introductory talks
Getting more from a performance
Introductions, given before performances, explore the world around the work being performed. You will watch the performance with new eyes once you have been given background information and interesting facts about the origins of the work, about the characters and about the story. The works are presented by opera and ballet experts: Heidi Almi (ballets), Juhani Koivisto (operas), and Auli Särkiö-Pitkänen (Hansel and Gretel and Luonnotar and Iolanta).
Introductory talks are usually accompanied by a cup of coffee or a glass of sparkling wine.
The introductory talks are held in the Almi Hall foyer and last about 30 minutes. Admission is free. The introductions are in Finnish. Please note that the introductions on 6 Nov and 20 May are held in the Main Foyer.
