On a guided tour, you will see the everyday life of the Opera House and learn how much professional skills are required to create a succesfull performance.

The tours are conducted in Finnish and last approximately an hour. Please note that the tours on 21 Oct and 11 Nov are conducted in English. The tours on 14 Oct and 4 Nov are conducted in Swedish. The tour starts from the ticket sales lobby (Alfons lobby) on the Töölönlahti entrance side.

During the guided tour, a distance of approximately two kilometres is walked. Please note that the tour includes sections with relatively steep staircases.

Tickets for the guided tours cost 8/16 euros. The discounted ticket is for children and youth aged 20 and under, students, pensioners, and military or non-military service members. Tickets can be purchased from the Opera and Ballet online store, customer service point, and service point of Stockmann Helsinki City Center department store. Please note that the guided tour tickets can only be paid on site during the customer service point’s opening hours.

Please ensure that you are present at the start of the guided tour. Latecomers will not be admitted to the tour.

Enjoy refreshments after the tour

The Bar & Café Carmen service counter in the Main Foyer is open after the guided tour if there is a performance on the Main Stage that evening. If you are attending the guided tour with a group, you can pre-order refreshments by emailing the Opera Restaurant at ravintola.oopperabaletti[at]restel.fi.
