PianoEspoo: Arcadi Volodos
virtuoso pianist’s awaited debut in finland
Arcadi Volodos is one of the few legendary virtuoso pianists of our time. A student of Dmitri Bashkirov, he has played in the most prestigious concert halls in the world while garnering considerable accodales for his recordings, inluding a Gramophone Award, a Diapason d’Or, an Edison Award, and multiple Grammy nominations.
Having consolidated his reputation with dizzying virtuoso performances, he has recently turned to more lyrical early-19th-century repertoire. For his awaited Finland solo recital, he has chosen a program that showcases the most delicate nuances of his playing.
It’s worth arriving early, as the students of Olli Mustonen’s masterclass will give a free pre-concert in the Main Foyer from 4 to 5 p.m.
