Dracula
The world’s most famous horror story about the Transylvanian Count is now seen as a ballet! Krzysztof Pastor’s choreography was received with great enthusiasm in West Australian Ballet in 2018.
The story of Count Dracula, inspired by the 15th-century Wallachian prince Vlad the Impaler, has become a popular culture favorite with numerous stage and film versions since its inception in 1897. The ballet is based on Bram Stoker’s original Dracula novel from 1897 and the Oscar-winning film directed by Francis Ford Coppola from 1992. The music from the film forms the core of the ballet’s music, supplemented by Wojciech Kilar’s other film and symphonic music.
