A thriller that leaves its mark

The emotive Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk is an opera with thrill to equal the very best crime series. The premiere of Ole Anders Tandberg’s interpretation of Shostakovich’s powerful drama was quite a phenomenon, revered by both critics and the audience. This unapologetic version is a wakeup call to analyse a woman’s position in the society, which stays with you long after the curtain has fallen.

Suggested age guidance 16+. The production includes scenes of sexual violence. The sound volume in this performance is at times very loud.

Performances 15 February at 7 p.m. and 25 February at 2 p.m. will be interpreted in sign language.
