Morgonstjärnan – The Morning Star: the director’s perspective
In this three-part mini documentary series, we follow the making of the opera Morgonstjärnan – The Morning Star.
In the final episode, we focus on the work of Thomas de Mallet Burgess, Artistic Director of the Finnish National Opera and Ballet, as he directs a new opera. We gain close insight into his work with the soloists and see how the opera’s expression and staging gradually take shape as rehearsals progress.
The documentary also looks at what Morgonstjärnan – The Morning Star is about: the themes it addresses, the world it inhabits, and what sets its atmosphere apart.
