Marvel at 80 years of choral singing in Espoo

When a choir bursts into song, the power of music is almost tangible. A choir is more than just a collection of individual voices; it is a community where members support one another and work towards a shared goal.

As the August evening turns to dusk, the Chorus of the Finnish National Opera invites you to a mesmerising concert at Tapiola Church. The programme features choral gems from beloved operas, including Il Trovatore, The Magic Flute, La Bohème, and Madama Butterfly. Taking centre stage are the magnificent opera singers of the Finnish National Opera.

Join us as we celebrate the 80th anniversary of this extraordinary choir!

The concert is part of the Urkuyö & Aaria festival. The concert venue is Tapiola Church in Espoo.

Opera singers of the Finnish National Opera

The Finnish National Opera currently has 53 full-time opera singers, who perform in solo roles or as part of the opera chorus, depending on the season and repertoire. Most of them are members of the Chorus of the Finnish National Opera, the only full-time professional opera chorus in Finland. In 2025, the chorus celebrates its 80th anniversary.
