The Susanna Leinonen Company visit Almi Hall, performing their hit production SEE | OBEY from 2015. This marks the 15th anniversary of the company, and the programme will also include extracts from earlier works by Leinonen such as Trickle Green Oak.
“I am glad there are people in contemporary dance who have the energy to work with the potential of pure movement. […] Dancers Sanni Giordani and Misa and Natasha Lommi are accomplished masters in interpreting Leinonen’s hypnotic style.”
–Raisa Rauhamaa, Teatteri & Tanssi + Sirkus -magazine 18.12.2015
SEE | OBEY combines text, dance film and music into a world delimited only by dance and movement. Susanna Leinonen’s sombre themes emerge from the dark side of life, but this new work takes a lucid view of them, not without its humorous touches.
SEE | OBEY is also a dance film by Jouka Valkama. It features three independent and parallel stories of human emotions, everyday occurrences and conflicts told through physical expression and movement. The film features several professional dancers and almost 100 extras.
