Kuule, minä sävellän! -nuori säveltäjä

Young people make an opera

The project Hear this, I’m a composer! has introduced nearly 100 kids and teens to composing music so far. Now, 10 pupils in upper-level comprehensive school will create an entire opera that will be performed in April 2016.

Kuule, minä sävellän!

Room for your vision

Hear this, I’m a composer! is a project where kids and teens are invited to write music under the guidance of professional composers for an orchestra of professional musicians. The purpose of the project is to give room to the visions of children and adolescents. The professionals are there only to provide technical assistance. There have been 12 concerts featuring works by kids and teens since 2011.

Listen, I’m composing! is based on the New York Philharmonic’s Very Young Composers programme.

The project participants are the FNO, Sibelius Academy of the University of the Arts Helsinki, Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra and Helsinki Music Centre.
