The partnership between Varma and the National Opera and Ballet supports Finnish culture and brings the world of opera and ballet within reach of an increasing number of people. The organisation of customer events is the main form of the co-operation: among other events, Varma’s most important customer event takes place at the National Opera.
“The guest performances of the National Opera and Ballet around Finland, operas featuring school children, and live performances bring the art world within reach of all Finns. It is also worth noting that the National Opera is a diverse employer. The partnership also offers us interesting potential to develop working life together with the makers of creative work,” says Ville-Veikko Laukkanen, Varma’s Executive Vice President.
The operations of the Finnish National Opera and Ballet are supported by the Ministry of Education and Culture and the cities of Helsinki, Espoo, Vantaa and Kauniainen. Business partnership enables the operations to be expanded across age groups and more extensively in Finland.
“One of our key goals is to increase well-being. Main stage productions are at the core of our operations. We offer programmes for people of all ages, from Art Breaks for Babies to Opera Tea Time Dances for seniors. It is wonderful that our long-term partnership with Varma in promoting well-being continues,” says Päivi Kärkkäinen, General Director of the Finnish National Opera and Ballet.
