Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream is a magical adventure through the twists and turns of romance, in which fairies and men fall in and out of love in a flutter. Choreographer Jorma Elo’s ballet is an entertaining, insightful and for the dancer technically demanding work that leaves no viewer cold. The miraculous beauty of A Midsummer Night’s Dream is embellished by its music, composed by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy.
Journalist Anna-Stina Nykänen, writer Miina Supinen and principal dancer Jani Talo will discuss the production before the performance and during the intermission. Sami Sykkö hosts the conversation. The discussion is in Finnish.
Production: HSTV and Finnish National Opera and Ballet 2017.
